Curriculum Mapping

Curriculum mapping is not in itself a methodology for instruction, but it can help us in planning service learning projects, so we include it here, as a tool for Service Learning Integration. Curriculum mapping allows us to examine what is being taught by each teacher, or team of teachers, every month, week, or day depending on the depth of the mapping project. It can be used to find holes in the content or process skills, or to find redundant teaching. It can also be used to find areas of commonality and overlap. These connections between the disciplines, can be used to our advantage in planning large scale Service Learning Projects.
