UbD is a methodology involving the exploration of essential questions.
Essential Questions form the underpinning of excellent educational
planning. The goal of UbD is to create a learning environment where
students can transfer their knowledge from the classroom into the
real world. Transfer often involves questions that are interdisciplinary
as well as highly relevant to the student's world. Within this model
is a framework for developing authentic assessment tasks. Using
the GRASPS frame work we can see how UbD and Service Learning are
synergistic models.
